Search Green County Court Records

Third, the Green County Circuit Court Clerk is the custodian for the official local court file.

Green County Search Fields
The docket search is the most direct free online way to check Green County court dates. It does not provide the full case file. It also warns that generated results are not the official docket and can change. The ePay portal has a different purpose: it searches matters that may be payable online, so the search fields are more focused on case numbers, citation identifiers, and party matching.

District Court records may still be requested through the same Green County Circuit Court Clerk office because the clerk serves both local trial-court levels.
Types of Green County Court Records
Green County civil court records may include complaints, answers, motions, service returns, hearing notices, orders, judgments, and cost entries. District Court handles small claims and lower-value civil cases, while Circuit Court handles larger civil matters, injunctions, title disputes, and appeals from District Court. Traffic cases are District Court records and may also affect state driver history, but the driver history is held by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
Family, divorce, probate, juvenile, and domestic violence records need careful routing. Divorce is a court case. Marriage licenses are County Clerk records. Probate of wills is usually a District Court matter in Kentucky, but recorded wills or related legal instruments may also appear in County Clerk records. Juvenile, adoption, mental-health, protected-address, and abuse-related details are not ordinary public records.

What Green County Records Show
A Green County court record is built from events and documents. The public docket may show only the schedule and basic event information. The official case file may include pleadings, orders, motions, notices, exhibits, judgments, sentencing orders, payment entries, or other documents depending on the case type. Copies and certified copies come from the clerk, not from a screenshot of an online docket.

Family and divorce case files can contain sensitive child, address, financial, abuse, and adoption-related material, so public copies may be limited or redacted.
Green County Access Rules
Kentucky court-record access is shaped by the record custodian, court rules, open-records law, retention rules, and confidentiality statutes. KRS Chapter 61 is Kentucky's open-records framework for public-agency records. KRS 61.872 addresses inspection rights and request procedures for nonexempt records. Court records can also be restricted by sealing, expungement, juvenile confidentiality, family safety rules, or protected personal information.

Restricted Green County Records
Some Green County court records may exist but not be open to the general public. Juvenile matters, adoption cases, involuntary mental-health proceedings, sealed exhibits, expunged criminal records, protected addresses, victim information, minor identities, medical information, and financial account data may be withheld or redacted. A public docket result may omit details, and a clerk response may confirm that a file is restricted without giving the underlying content.
Expungement is a separate legal process. Kentucky statutes include KRS 431.073 for some felony convictions, KRS 431.078 for misdemeanor, violation, and traffic convictions, KRS 431.076 for acquittals or dismissals, and KRS 431.079 for certification. Eligibility should be confirmed through official Kentucky Court of Justice resources and the filing court.
In-Person Record Requests
For Green County court records, use the Green County Judicial Center and the Office of Circuit Court Clerk. Bring or provide the party names, date of birth when needed for criminal or traffic matching, case number if known, approximate filing date, court division, and document type. If a file is stored outside the office, the clerk may identify the record facility and provide case or file locator details if the record is available for public access.
